Hi daisy -
You may want to have a look at the WID Scanner Utility in the BOB Downloads section (I don’t believe it locates report expressions though)
Your other options are:
Hope this helps

Thanks Atul,
I am not a SDK person but do you know of any 3rd party tool which can help me with this process.

Hi daisy -
We develop an add-on that does this as do several other partners. Kindly leave me a note at my profile email and I can send something along. (note: this is not the same as our eval download currently available)
Other solutions that also do this are:
Eric Vallo’s product - http://www.savethecms.com
Analytics8’s System Profiler - http://www.analytics8.com/system-profiler
EbiExperts (possibly) http://www.ebiexperts.com
Hope this helps.

hi Nimu - Did you ever find a solution for this? Were you able to get a macro or tool to list all the variables used in a webi report?
Thanks in advance!

Nope.
Try CMSConnect from Infolytik they give you a free universe for XI 3.1

Useful document as I’ve been trying to get a list of variables but I’m using Rich Client and can’t work it out!

This document is very useful. Does anyone know how to extract the contents into an excel sheet ? (instead of printing)

unfortunately there is no feature in webi to extract this into a excel. But we can always copy and paste this into a excel which might work for you.

I am also using Dave’s method and extracting into excel manually - it is better than opening the field up to see what it is. Unfortunately i also have to use the Lineage Analysis to further decompose the measures and dimensions back to the universe and tables/fields. That tool is blazingly slow.

Hello All,
I’m really frustrated right now. All I’m looking is a way to find out the objects, variables, formula used in the Webi reports. The WEBI Scanner doesn’t do that.
Is there a solution for this other than the beautiful way of using the Data Summary?
Really appreciate if there’s a alternative solution to this.
Cheers!
