Hi Folks,
We have a requirement from user to built a help manual on Dashboard report so that user knows what each components on the Dashboard do.
The requirement is that there is a link on each component which takes user to specific section of word document which talks about that component.
I know how to embed word doc in Dashboard but the part where link takes to specific section of word document is a challenge for me.
Please advise.
Thanks

Never done it in the context of xcelsius, but I build ebook files (I’m a writer as well as an IT person…) by creating bookmarks within word and then creating an index that hyperlinks to the bookmarks. So I’d imagine you could work along those lines?

My suggestion is to convert that Word file to a PDF, and use Acrobat’s Named Destination feature to link to it.

You’d wouldn’t need to embed the doc, just store some accessible by URL. Then this link shows how to create Named Destinations and link to them.

Thanks TKT,
So your solution worked.
What i did is created named destination in PDF file as mentioned on the link and placed it in the root folder of Tomcat server and included below URL which took me to particular section in PDF.
