Hi,
I am trying to create a linear trend line in my line graph. I have tried using the interpolation method shown here: Graphing Linear Trend Lines
However it plots the same points as my graph does which isn’t what I’m after. Just after a nice line like you get in excel. Any help would be appriciated!
Thanks

Here is the code I’m using:
=Interpolation([Secondary Headcount];Linear;NotOnBreak;Col)

Sorry to bump early, but this is for a project that needs delivering tommorow.

hi
The interpolation function will either fill in gaps in your data or you can use to forecast a straight line after the end of your data.
There isn’t (in XI3 at least) a ‘add trend line’ option as you have in Excel but you can create manually as described in this article.

Thanks Al, really good article. My problem now is that it is numbers of dates eg; 50205 in January 2011 etc.
The guide caters for numbers by numbers, unless i am being stupid.
