LDAP Authentication Fails with Webi Rich Client

Hi,

I am currently trying to setup LDAP authentication to InfoView, CMC and Client Tools on XI 3.1 SP3 FP3.1. We have imported in the LDAP groups in to the CMC and confirmed they are in the groups and users list.
There is no single sign-on needed in this process, it is just a basic LDAP login with a username and password.

LDAP authentication is working for InfoView, CMC and is also working for QaaWs and Live Office. It is currently not working with Webi Rich Client on a user’s workstation. An error message is returned which says “Logon failure due to an internal error”.

QaaWs and Live Office seem to be fine since they go through Tomcat.

Webi Rich Client is able to authenticate on the BOE Server using LDAP authentication. This leads me to believe the authentication request from the Rich Client tool on the user’s workstation is being blocked by the BOE server and therefore is also not making it to the LDAP server.

The LDAP server using an SSL connection and we have all the appropriate certificates on the client workstation.

Does any have any experience with configuring LDAP authentication for Webi Rich Client? Is there anything special we need to do on the BOE server so it can accept LDAP authentication from the client?

Any help you can provide me with on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
