We have a situation where an SAP JOB Triggered through an ABAP DF sometimes runs longer than usual, when I check the corresponding PID on the SAP application server. I notice that it is “on hold” status (basically doing nothing) hung situation. the BODS JOB never completes therefore, we have to kill/terminate it manually, after which the SAP JOB completes successfully.
We use Data Transfer Method as “RFC” on the Data Store.
I understand that in this process, as soon as the Extraction from SAP is done, al_engine process fetches the information and writes it into BODS staging DB.
On the Selection Screen of the report that runs on SAP. We have a dynamically generated Program ID, passed by the ABAP DF, I am not sure how this happens/works. along with this there is a Function also passed. This is probably the BAPI that gets executed after the extraction process is done. But I dont find this Function any where on BODS. Please could some body point me to the correct path on BODS, where I should be looking for this Function.
I would appreciate any futher insight on this topic.
