Job does not succeed on the BCA

Hi,

I have scheduled a few reports on the BCA. They seemed to run ok last weekend. But this week they dont seem to succeed.

When i logged into the BCA console and manually ran a job, the status says running for several hours and then it fails with the error message
" The server threw an exception,‘WCode = 0x000000000,Description =(Null)’

Could somebody let me know why this is happening and how to resolve this.

Hi,

I think you get this error message when a scheduled report times out.

I’d suggest to logon to the BO server and to run the report in BO Deski there. There you should get a better error description if the report fails.

Check also with your DBA the query that the report is using. Review what its performance is and whether there are ways to optimize it.

Thanks Marek. But the report runs ok on the server and that was very quick. it only takes a few seconds to run the report.

I thought i could be possibly because of another copy of the same universe in the repository. Is it possible to delete the other copy of the universe from the repository.

We are facing problem for scheduling reports via BCA in BO 6.5.

Background:
BO 6.5 was installed in Pre Production environment and all the parameters were set same as were done in Dev and QA.

Problem: While scheduling the reports in BCA ( Run Now), they goes in infinite loop and further if we try to run any other report, it gives error as : Scheduler Busy. We have tried increasing the BO Manager parameters but this is not working. When we stop the server and restart the same, for a while all work fine, but later the problem persist. I am not sure if some Log file is being filled and is not deleted while reports are running ( May be this is keeping the process busy). Because if we stop and restart BCA server, things work fine for some time.

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.
