Issues with Access Server

Hi all,

I am trying to set up a instance of DI 11.7. I have a real-time service that I’m trying to set up.

I have created a real-time service, and the relevant adapter instances. From within the Administrator, the adapters start up fine; however, the real-time service remains with a status of ‘Starting service…’

Scrolling through the various error logs, I seem to have problems with the Access Server. They provide the information below - for reference, ID3FCB01 is the database where the repository is held, and szsolap44 is the name of the machine where DI 11.7 is installed.

errorlog.txt says this…

OCI call <OCISessionBegin> for connection <ID3FCB01> failed: <ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied

I can’t work out where this null password problem could be. I have declared the appropriate repository, with it’s password, in the Management tab in the Administrator. The same repository contains batch jobs also - and these can be successfully executed from the Administrator - so there doesn’t seem to be a problem with connection to the repository. In addition, the Real-time job in question can be run successfully from within DI Designer with test files declared.

WebServices.log says

06/25/2008 12:34:49 [ SEVERE ] *** 3024036 : Unable to collect real-time service definitions. Error: Access Server is not available.

monitor.txt says

@CON-120404, ERROR, 0, 0.000, 1214394752.000, 0.000, 0, CON-120404: Initialization: OCI call <OCISessionBegin> for connection <ID3FCB01> failed: <ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied>.

error_log_25_06_2008.txt - the current day’s error log, which is repository-specific says

The real-time service is called MI_service, and does exist.

error_log.txt says this

(11.7) 06-25-08 10:57:30 (E) (9661:0001) RUN-058001: |Session RT_3F_CDC_TO_SODS_LOAD

Any ideas as to what the issue is would be greatly appreciated. The Access server is definitely configured and running, as is the WebServer. I’ve restarted the job server, re-configured the job server, deleted and recreated the real-time services and the adapters several times, and still the same error comes up! The difficulty is mainly in identifying the problem first, which means it’s a bit difficult to debug.

Has anyone seen anything like this before!?

Thanks,

EDIT: I have now resolved this issue.

Apologies to dnewton for ‘cross-posting’ - I wasn’t sure which area my query fit in.

Apologies again.

So that others can learn, what did you do to fix the problem?
