Issue with scheduled metric refresh

Hi All,

I am trying to refresh a metric. I tried various options:

  1. Manually just hitting the Refresh button under Dashboard Manager–>Metrics–> “Metric_Name”. This wont reflect a new Last Refresh date. But if I hit purge first then it clears the dates in Metric History and then upon hitting Refresh the data Last Refresh date is reflected as desired.

  2. Created a Rule for the Metric refresh: Every 0 Hr and 5 Min WHEN 1=1 = purge&&& refresh metric.
    Upon seeing the histroy of this Rule in the Scheduler I see that all the schedules for refresh were successful but again the Last Refresh Date of the Metric History does not reflect the latest refresh timestamp as desired.

  3. Scheduled just the Metric on the Scheduler with Purge for all periods option and Refresh now option. Still I dont see the latest Last Refresh Date on the Metric History as desired.

As am trying this in the DEV environment there is no way in which I can validate if the data is really getting refreshed unless i insert some new records into the DB which I dont want to do. Is there any other way to confirm if the refresh of the Metric is successful or the Metric History last refresh date should reflect the latest timestamp? Am i missing something somewhere ???

Is there any specific location where the metric is stored after refresh? or it is overwritten in the same folder in which it was residing and selected for refresh?

I realize this response is coming VERY late and I would hope the answer is already known.

The behavior you are seeing is expected, since the data has not changed and you are not purging the data, there is nothing to do. You might want to at least purge the last 1 period when scheduling, this would give the result you desire.
