Is the Difference Viewer available in v3.1?

I’m unable to use it because I keep getting the message:

Does it not come with v3.1?

Are you talking about the ability to compare objects and see what has changed? I thought that was part of the Central Repository functionality, do you have a license for that?

Yes, that’s the one. The central repository works fine. I doubt it’s a licensing issue, the difference viewer should always be available.

I’m just wondering if it’s an issue with v3.1. Did they not have time to include it or something?

Sorry, still hanging out on 11.7.3 till they work out most of the bugs in DS3.

I remember that question was asked (in the SAP forum?). Ben replied this feature got disabled in a very specific DI version if I recall correctly.

This limitation isdocumented in the release note:

The Difference Viewer, which compares objects between local and central
repositories and between local to local repositories, is not available in the
Data Services XI 3.1 version 12.1.0.0 release. For updates on this
functionality, check the release notes for upcoming Fix Packs and Service
Packs.

Also, I haven’t seen any new Fix Packs or Service Packs, yet.

In the menu are service.sap.com there is the “Installations” node and the “Patches” node…
