Is SNC authentication requires RFC Server configuration?

Hi,

We are using SNC authentication while connecting to all SAP systems.

but I am facing following issue when using SNC authentication ( but with only password I am able to connect to the SAP systems):

‘RFC_COMMUNCATION_FAILURE[SAP partner]: Please make sure that SAP Server is running and login information is correct’

Is this because of not configuring RFC Server through DS management console?

Do we really required RFC Server configuration for SNC authentication?

Please help me.

Gouravg

Hi Prasna,

The issue I am getting is, while creating the Datastore itself using SNC authentication.

do we required to configure the RFC server also? Is it mandatory to have the RFC Server Instance to create a datastore through SNC?

Please provide your inputs.

Tested and confirmed.

SNC authentication doesn’t require RFC Server configuration.

Hello,

I am facing this exact issue. RFC COMMUNICATION FAILURE when I created the DS with SNC settings. But RFC configuration through the management console is working perfectly fine.

Any ideas why?

Thanks for the help.
