It wasn’t supported in 6.5.1 but I don’t know about later versions. You can find this information in the SAP support portal, under ‘SAP Support Infrastructure’, then the ‘Business Objects Support’ tab. On the left, pick ‘Documentation’ from the list and then ‘Supported Platforms’. Bookmark it when you find it, it’s not easy to find your way around the site.

BQMD does not work with Excel 2007. We ended up using Pivot tables within Excel to connect to the SQL Server 2005 OLAP cubes. Hope this helps.

Hi JSanthanam

I am interested on the process you mentioned.

What i have done so far is create a Pivot, External Data Source, Get Data, OLAP Cubes, New Data Source. Then I gave a name to my data source and chose OLAP provider Microsoft OLE DB Provider for OLAP Services 8.0.

After I click CONNECT, the next step will require me to indicate the OLAP server name.

How do I know (or wheredo I get) the OLAP server name?

Thanks in advance.
