Interview quesitons on migration of BO XR2 to XI 3.1 /4.0

I am facing lot of job requirements for migration from XIR2 to XI 3.1 or to even XI 4.0. would you any one help me with interview question for such requirements.
Are there any books/documents to read about migration?
I really need to get the job…
I have good amount of experience in BOBJ report development.

Well, being a report developer does not make you a migration specialist, does it?

I suggest reading through migration manuals and best practices.
Do you have any Universe Design experience? Any CMC/security design experience?

Hi Andreas,
That’s correct. Being report developer is not same as migration expert.
I want to extent my knowledge.
I have experience in universe designing and CMC.

Worlds apart really.

To be good at migrations requires experience not just reading. I would also suggest the roles will be asking for this experience that you do not have.
Often, you have to become a little inventive to fix the issues, such invention, does not come from just reading a few posts and manuals, IMO.

Hello Mak1,
As I said above , I understand that being report developer is different than being a migration expert.
My question is if i want to extend my knowledge and do migration projects where do i start?
No body gets experience before working on it.
To work on anything you need to get into it.

Are there any traning courses, docs etc…?
I am aware that here in this forum , in web i can do the serach and get info.
Here I need experts input who already have experience and can point me right direction.
thanks

True. It is a steep learning curve, for you, however.
I, for example, didn’t do any migration work until I had 8 years experience.
This experience was not just about building universe and reports, but, also BO and Windows server side administration and strong RDBMS skills, over a number of platforms.

There is nothing wrong with reseraching to try and improve skills, we all do it.
However, you shouldn’t use this knowledge to lie in an interview.
You should be honest and say I haven’t done this before, but, I have extensive knowledge of it. If you can demonstrate this, then you may be given an opportunity.
