It may work in compatability mode.
In our case though even though IE 11 was stated to be partially supported for 4.1 SP2 it didn’t work in our case. Unsure what the exact issues were as this testing was carried out by the apps team that support the installs / patches.
Not sure if this will help you out at all, but IE11 offers a feature called Enterprise Mode. It’s brand new in one of the latest IE cumulative patches. This is/was intended to help enterprises move off of IE8 and onto at least IE11. The functionality allows for some websites that are identified to be rendered in IE8.
We tried it with our SP3/Tomcat 5.5 environment, but no dice. We are investigating an SP7/Tomcat 7 upgrade and will try again.
I’ve installed SP7 and IE11 and they do work together. But this latest comment is worth a try in case the desktop group want to move ahead of the BO upgrade.
We were also at BOE 3.1 SP5 and yes, we got the 400 or 404 errors when clicking History, Scheduling, and a couple of others (using IE 10 or 11). No issues with either version after applying SP7. Go for it!
We applied SP7 to a 3-server cluster. Outside of the CMS, FRSInput and FRSOutput; all services are distributed. Applying SP7 took about 4 1/2 Hrs. start to finish.
I was researching this issue as well and found this on SAp TECH SITE:
Support for IE 11 on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 is planned for BI 4.1 SP03 and BI 4.0 SP09, both of which are available since March 2014.
Support for Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Internet Explorer 11 is available for BOE XI 3.1 SP7 since April 2014.
our clients are windows 7, our java is 1.7, and our version 3.1 sp6 (windows server)…
we had a user who got a push to IE11 on wind7 laptop and Infoview would not allow a login.
are you using similar clients on your 3.1 sp7 version with IE11? Did you change the compatibility view on the clients?
If you are using BO 3.1 SP5 and IE 11, you should get problem when you select “Properties” on the WEBI reports (HTTP Status 400) and select “Properties/”“History” on publications (404).
