I’m pulling my hair out with this one, and theres precious little of it left.
How can I change the default WebI report viewer to interactive?
Thanks

After you log in to InfoView, click “Preferences”, then “Web Intelligence Document”, then you will see the option.
You might want to check whether a particular user has the right or not in CMC if you want to give users to do drilldown analysis.

This is correct, the other thing you’ll want to watch for is the individual Interactive Rights, which are controlled from the Web Intelligence section under BusinessObjects Enterprise Applications (in the CMC).
If you’re looking to set a viewer preference across your user base (and have Performance Manager), check out this thread:

Sorry, yes, I did mean for ALL of my users, not just for me!
No, I don’t have EPM installed here.

Ross, it looks like EPM is required, because some of the necessary .jar files are included in the EPM install. If I were you, I’d open a case with BO asking how you could change the global prefs, and maybe they’ll give you the necessary files, or give you an alternative solution. IMHO, this should be available to everyone, not just EPM users.

Hi:
Just wonder if you have heard anything back from BO tech support.
Now, my problem is: I have a drill down report, which works fine if I log on to InfoView using BO logon (user name and password). If i go to the customized page directly, run the drilldown report, I don’t see any link for the report.
I checked in CMC, it seems that this group has all the “Interactive” features granted.
Could anyone tell me what it might be?
Thanks a lot.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone got any solution to this?
We are having the exact same problem, we want to set global preferences to a specific folder for all users. We don’t have EPM so modifying the .jar file is not an option.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

really interesting… so the only way to set up a default is manually running a script?

Hey all,
Anyone have a script that would apply preferences only for a specific group of people?
Group A have Category Z as default view, Group B would get Category Y.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
