We recently upgraded our Info Steward to 4.2 SP08 P04 with IPS 4.2 SP03 P11 and Client Tools 4.2 SP03 P11 and have issues when viewing lineage and impact in the Metadata Management module of IS.
Our Data Services build is 4.2 SP10 P00.
We have two (2) source data warehouses that we create connections to through IS CMC and we scan BO/BI using integrator scans. We we view lineage or impact of the data tables or columns from the data warehouses into BO/BI, we often receive an incomplete picture of the lineage/impact with certain columns marked with ‘insufficient permissions to view this object’. Sometimes the container that represents one of the data warehouses is greyed out and hovering over it produces the ‘insufficient permissions’ message. See attached image for an example.
The IS accounts we use to view lineage and impact in Metadata Mgmt are both full administrators and we’ve checked the credentials used to create the connections in IS CMC; they are both dbo for the 2 data warehouse connections.
I wanted to reach out to the BOBJ community to see if anyone else has seen these type of errors and what they’ve done to solve them.
