Installing EPM

Hi Everyone,

BOXIR2 installed in production server without EPM. Now I want to install EPM in the production server. What steps i have to follow.

For Performance Management you will need:

  • License key for PM
  • A JSP application server (IIS will not do)

Did you read through the Deployment manual of PM?
All the manuals can be downloaded here.

Hello Everybody,

Yesterday I’ve added EPM to our existing BO XI R2 (SP2) platform.
Altough all analytics services have been installed and running, I’m still encountering an error when clicking on the PM icon in infoView.
BO Support site is refering to a file located in a file location that is not available in my Business Objects folder… Anyone any idea??
In addition, nowhere during the setup was asked for repository credentials :frowning:
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

u need to go to the System Setup and configure it.

Thanks Bambazooka for your reply, however I don’t really understand your statement by going to the System Setup and configure PM…
Haven’t I done this yet?!?
Could you explain this a little more?? (Procedures, screens…)

After installing PM, you have to do some setup work here
Infoview->(right angle triangle) PM icon->Setup->System Setup (See the screen shot attached)

What all to configure can be found in PM setup guide.

The cross mark at the lower part of the image whouls be a check mark in green when everything is OK.

Just to add on this.

You can use the “wmodify” utility to add EPM after BOXI R2 is installed (Limitation : it can be used only on RTM - no patches applied)

And after the setup is done, please check that PMUser is present in your CMS, bydefault BOXI R2 uses this user for PM intialization.
