Are you sure your BO server can communicate with the Oracle instance?
Does the oracle user account have write access?

MikeD :south_africa: (BOB member since 2002-06-18)

Yes Oracle user acct has write access.

I ran the cmsdbsetup.sh and reinitialized tables.

When I try to enable using ./ccm.sh -enable all
I get this

err: Error: Couldn’t logon to CMS
err: Error description: The system can be contacted, but there is no Central Management Server running at port 6400

Any Ideas anybody!
Thanks

Are you sure you have used 6400 as default port during installation? If you have taken screenshots of the installation process you can confirm.

Also there are certain download utility on the web that can show which process is using which port(if you have a system admin at hand he could also show you how to find). I am wondering if 6400 is used by a different process and hence CMS is unable to use it.

I reinstalled the BOXI and I am sure that it used the 6400 port. 6400 port is not being used by any other port.

I got same error as before(see the first post in this thread)

When I restart CMS it restarts for a minute or so then dies.

Is it not a rights issue?
The CMS gets updated on startup and if the Oracle connection details you are using does not have sufficient write access privilages then the CMS won’t start.

user is member of dba, oracle group. I get a core dump error during installation.

from the logs

Update: When I stop all processes then start CMS , it starts up . Then I start up five other servers (page, cache , input output etc) CMS dies . It almost seems like a resource issue and I don’t have anything else running on that box
