Install problems with 5.0.1

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone else commiserate with me when trying to install BO 5.0.1 and have problems.
All is well and installing until it copies file BQAUT50.DLL, then the installation just pops out of it by itself without any errors messages or finishing the installation.

This is occurring with some PC’s, and not with others. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

All PC’s are in a Windows NT 4.0 and service pack 5.

Hi Edna,
You can search the archive and find some references to this problem which occurred on ver 5 and probably wasn’t fixed in 5.0.1.

In short, take down the services and close all the startup application.

We found that an aborted install should be followed by removing the leftover BO directories and files manually; you can fight the install a long time if you don’t do this…

I am having problems installing 5.0.2. Seems like the same problem you sufferred with 5.0.1. Can you remember how you solved your problem ?

Hi all,

I have the same problem when trying to install version 5.0.1 on windows XP OS.

We’re installing with administrator privilege… and all applications are stopped.

We haven’t found any key on register containing Business or something like that…

Please, any idea about what else can I try??

You still use version 5? I’m tempted to make a joke, but seriously you are aware there are newer versions. Also version 5 is no longer supported by Business Objects.
