Inpyt and Output FRS

Hi,

We are using BO XI R2.
We are facing space issue in the server.So we thought to change the Input and Output FRS path to some other shared path or some other server.
If i change the path will it affect any thing.
Please advise.What are the steps i have to follow before and after changing the path.

We have done this and it’s not too difficult.

  1. In the CCM, Shut down all of the BO servers. Users CANNOT access the system and no schedules can run while you’re doing this.
  2. Copy (DO NOT CUT/MOVE!!) the FileStore folder and all of its contents from the server to a network location.
  3. In the CCM, start the CMS, Input File Repository and Output File Repository ONLY!
  4. Log in to the CMC. Go to Servers.
  5. In the properties of the Input and Output file repositories, change the path to the file store. Use a UNC path, NOT a mapped path (I had issues with a mapped path not working correctly!)
  6. Restart the File Repository servers.
  7. Start all of the other BO servers.
  8. Delete the original FileStore folder.

It is very important that you copy the FileStore instead of moving it. The File Repository servers look for the file store folder when they start. If they don’t find it, they won’t start. At this point, you have to do a registry hack to get them to work.
