I am trying on Infoview timeout setting the one posted here in this site.
the information is really helpful. But I have few queries.
could not understand from step7 IIS changes and default website changes .I can not find that in my bo server to change. I can see the Tomcat folder only. Please let me know abt this.
Also please tell me where is the registry set to change in step 8&9.
Does BO support if I change timeout settings more than 6 hours.or any issue if I change timeout to 6 hrs. like security,performance any other issues…
Your Tomcat server is being used as a web and application server so you don’t have IIS but you should ensure that ALL tomcat settings are adjusted.
Don’t mess with the registry if you don’t have to - if you do - back it up first.
To edit - Start / Run / type in regedit - then navigate to the relevant path.
You’re insane - 6 hours is not an advisable session time for any component. There are recycling actions that need to be done by the various server components - Tomcat and BOE - in order to keep your system operating efficiently. Industry defaults / standards are 20 minutes for a reason - adjusting this takes a full understanding of your user base and the technology being used with the knowledge that you will have to compromise somewhere.
