Infoview hangs, when clicked on edit query

Hi All,
When I try to edit the query in Webi report, my system screen hangs and keeps on running. I have to kill the session and go back into another Web Intell. Doc, and it will run fine.

It happens regurarly and works fine if I am lucky.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Do you have the right Java version?

I guess yes…I have 1.6.0 right now…

We need to investigate further.

  • Does this happen with all reports, a specific report or is it random; could happen with any report, any time?
  • Have you tried accessing the reports from some other system? What’s your observation?
  • You log on to Infoview from your system or do you access it via Citrix, VMware etc?
  • Please share your BO Version and (most important) is the Java product number 1.6.0 or something like 1.6.0_x. In case there is, please share the ‘x’ part too.

Hi Rajat,

The above problem is in one of the user machine. I am the Admin and everything works fine in my machine and other users as well.

The user uses VPN to connect Business Objects.

Version: BOXI 3.1 (12.1.0.882) and Java 1.6.0_18-b05.

If other Users are able to access the reports (which are causing problems for a single User) without any issues, the first thing I would confirm would be the way he/she accesses the report.

We had similar issues while accessing Infoview via Citrix. It came out that the Users were using some different Internet Explorer (which was getting updated, thus updating the JRE environment). There was a specific Internet Explorer (1.5 for XI R2), meant for Infoview, which had to be used.

You could probably compare system settings for that User with others. It doesn’t appear as Report (or Data Provider) issue, as other Users are able to access the report.

This is likely a security setting or a pop up issue.

Is the user set so that a new browser is opened when they hit edit? Try changing their setting so that it does not do this.

I would also upgrade Java and make sure the security settings are correct there.
