Infoview crashes when modifing report after office 2003 upgr

There was an upgrade to microsoft office 2003 last night and this morning I cannot modify any of my webi reports. Business Objects infoview just crashes and does not provide any messages in event viewer on the local PC or on the server. I am using XI R2 but on my Java plug in I have Java Runtime Parameters set up to -Xms128m -Xmx256m so that I can create big reports. If I change the Java Runtime Parameters to blanks, then BO stays up but I cannot modify any of my large reports.

I am at a loss at the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions? :oops:

I have not heard of this behaviour before.

I assume that the Office upgrade did not happen on the actual BO server, so what happens on that machine?

When you say that Infoview crashes, you mean that your browser crashes. What happens when you use another browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera…)?

The upgrade happened on client machine but not on the server. The server works fine.

It is actually the Java Plugin which gives us the problem. I have now changed the Java Runtime Parameters to a lower settings of -Xms96m and that trigged infoview to work.
I don’t understand why the installation of office 2003 would cause the higher settings not to work.
