I am new in BO (XI R2).
I have a universe file created in a previous machine, at the moment we are not be able to access it.
We tried to open the universe but a message advises us that because of universe was created in another CMS repository is not possible to open it.
Do you know ho to open it?
Is there any way to rech this goal?

Since you are opening it in a different CMS than the one used to create the universe.
Use import wizard on your machine or server to transfer it into the CMS you are logging in.

What you should do if you want to transfer universes is to.
Connected to the original CMS (which could be a problem for you)
Change the connection to a shared or private connection
Save the universe for all users (In save as lower left corner there is a checkbox)
Connect to then new CMS
Change the connection to secured (if you want to publis, or any if you only want to run local deski reports)
Save the universe
Export (optional for deski, required to run webi documents on the universe)

If you get really desperate, the technique outlined here, while not for the faint of heart, will work.
