Importing from Business Objects 6.5 to XI Release 2 Error

I installed the Business Objects XI Release 2 server on new machine. And it is working fine.
But, In the Import wizard I am unable to proceed while setting the source information.
It says “Error login on to the server. Invalid Username and password“ And I am using the correct administrator user name and password.
If I will try it again then the administrator account got disabled in the Business Objects 6.5 supervisor.
Anybody can help please?

First thing you may want to do is login to the BO6.5 as administrators account.
This will do two things. 1. It will verify that you have correct id and passowrd. 2. If logged is successfully, it will prevent it from being disabling should you try import wizard again and it fails again.
Better safe than sorry.

Also make sure that you have a backup of your BO6.5 repository just in case. It will come handy should you have to go back to “original” 6.5 repository.

Now coming back to your problem. The error message suggest that it is a userid/password issue. Make sure that you are using the correct BOMain.key file and that the userid and password you are supplying to get to BO6.5 are valid for this BOMain.key.

look for the basic things such as typo, or caps lock on, or similar things.

Thanks for your help. I tried to use the administrator login and it works for me.
But on the very next screen I am getting a warning message which says only some of the objects will be imported, And in the list of imported objects there is no user or group objects. Does it mean that it will not import any of the users or groups ?
Actually we are using the LDAP users authentication in 6.5, is this the reason or something else is the error ?

Actually, I thinks this happens when you are not the Administrator on XI, it won’t let you import/export users and groups.
