Importing data from Excel

Hi,

When I am tring to import an Excel file saved as Microsoft 97-2000 & 5.0/95 Workbook, I am getting the error:

CDaoException
SCODE_CODE=340
SCODE_FACILITY=4
SCODE_SEVERITY=1
ResultFromScode=2147746132

It is not even importing data from a text file. What could be the problem that it is not taking in any data from any of the data files. It works fine on BO on another system.I am using BO 5.1.7.

Can you help.
Thank you,

I have seen this problem before, but I left the place before it was finally resolved. I think it might be something to do with the version of DAO on the machine.

Is it running WinXP or OfficeXP?

normaly you would have to install your mdac version again…
bo is using it and if it’s not in a right state you get this error … it should also be used when exporting data to xls or txt csv… you may test this too…
I would try installing mdac again… :wink: you’ll find mdac downloads at microsoft…

yours…

Wobi is talking about MDAC - Microsoft Data Access Components. Typically, you have something when you install Microsoft Office.

Which version of Office / MDAC do you have installed? The problem may be that they’re newer than the version BusObj needs.

Try doing a Search here on BOB using the keywords MDAC DAO – you’ll find where this has been discussed in the past, such as in this topic.
