Import Wizard

Hi All,

I imported one webi report from production box(BOXI R2) to BIAR file using Import Wizard. And then I’m importing that BIAR file(the file that I have imported) to development box(BOXI R2) using Import Wizard. But I’m not able to see that webi report in development box.

Can anyone tell me, where I’m going wrong or how to acheive this using BIAR files concept?

Any help is really appreciated!

What are you seeing in the Import Wizard log? Is the log indicating that the object was migrated OK?

Is that report already present in your Development Repository?
If it there r u not able to find report or the instance that u have migrated from Prod(repository)

Hi Crystal01,

When I imported from production to BIAR file, I see in the summary/log that one object and one folder has been successfully imported. But when I import this biar file to development then I can’t see them in summary/log. And this webi report and it’s parent folder not there in development.

What was there in the Import Wizard log for the 2nd time…
if nothing is written over there it means .
report hasen’t been migrated.
do it once again.
Check wheather it is in the BIAr file.

one more u can directly migrate report from DEv to Prod withpu using BIAR FILR.

I take it that you are recommending a cms to cms transfer. If so, it applies only when your servers are able to see each other.

only thing requried for migrating is that the machine where import wizard is present should be able to access both the servers PROD AS WELL AS DEV
THATS IT
it is not necessary whether your both serves can see each other

It seems you don’t know the meaning of “Seeing each other” do you? Import Wizard will be able to access both the servers ONLY and ONLY when the servers are able to see each other(meaning in the same network)

try opening the BIAR file using winrar or winzip and check if the xml file there contains the objects you need to migrate…
