Hi,
I am importing All reports, all users and all universes from one BI server to other, using merge option. But once it is done, when I checked from Infoview, none of my report instances have been imported to the new environment.
I had selected the checkbox for importing the instances while using the import wizard.
Please let me know what could be the reason and if anyone else has got this issue in the past.

Did you hit the “View log” button once the import was complete? That should tell you why instances didn’t import. You can also check the logging" directory for the output.

Thanks Joe.
I will verify the logs and update it here.

That looks like a trace log. There should be a log file whose name doesn’t end in “-trace.log”.

This is .log file (ImportWiz_20120106_095102_3408.log). I don’t see any -trace.log files in the logging directory.
Also when I clicked on the view log button it gave me following warning msg
“Matching object has been found in the destination system, but it is not updated because of your selected import option”

Ok, so that means that the content you are moving already existed in the target system, but the CUIDs were different. If you want to overwrite the target, you’ll need to delete it first from the target.

Just realized you said you’re on XIr2 – the log files are in Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86.
