Upgraded the system from XIR4.1SP3 to SP6, but before upgrading we have taken BIAR file backup (folders and unverses) using UMT (upgrade Management Tool) from XI4,1 SP3.
After upgrade (full install of SP6), we are trying to push the content back to SP6 using UDT (BIAR to LIVE), but getting an error “version check failed error”. Later found out that UDT (BIAR to LVE) option only for 3.1 to 4.1 upgrade not for 4.1 to 4.1.
How do i to import content from 4.1 SP3 BIAR file to 4.1 SP6?
Why didn’t you patch your existing install? Now your content is not in line with your server install.
The only safe way around would be to install 4.1 SP3, import the content, then applying the SP6 patch.
we decided to do clean install as we were having some issues with patch upgrades before.
If we go back to SP3 again, how do i import the content from BIAR file? UDT will not accept the BIAR and Promotion Management will look for lcmbiar file, which i don’t have.
Exactly i was thinking the same questions as listed in the SAP thread #3414235. But if this for future releases, then LIVE to BIAR should be disabled until new version released.
Also i tried the option listed “Add the following parameter to the end of the Target field:
-internal_use_only_noversioncheck”
