I am creating a report in Crystal XI for a permit and would like to have a decorative border. I am using the section option to underlay following sections and this works great. However, when I insert the image into the report it adds about 3MB of size to the report, too big to have multiple users potentially running it on a server. The image I am inserting is only 100kb, why does the report size inflate so much? Is it related to Crystal calling it an “OLE Object” after insertion? If so, is there anything I can do about it? I just want to have the static image part of the report, just a .jpg image, I wouldn’t have thought the report size should not go up much more than the image being added.

Hi, were you able to solve the problem ? I am facing a similar issue, where a 600kb image when stored in oracle database as Blob and inserted into crystal report, is exploding to more than 2MB size.
