Ignore printer tray settings in Crystal reports

hello,

I have an issue with printer settings in crystal reports. The reports I created are used by several of our clients. Each have different printers and computers.

Some reports have to be printed on tray 1, others on tray 2 . This commands are sent through VB, but somehow, CR ignores or deletes this.
Using the option “no printer” proved also not to resolve this issiue ?

Does anyone has any solution on this ?

Thank you

Which version of Crystal are you using? Are your clients printing from Crystal itself or from your application? If it’s your application, is it Java or .NET and which version of the SDK are you using?

I have crystal reports 11.
The command is sent from our application ( in VB6). This opens and loads crystal reports.

Ok, I’m not super familiar with that older version of the SDK. Has this ever worked for your customers? It could be that the old SDK doesn’t work correctly with newer versions of Windows.

Don’t really know if this was an issue in the past. The fact is, more and more of our clients use printers with trays now, and want certain reports printed on a specific tray.

I know that there are ways to make this work with the newer .NET SDK, but I’m not sure about how to do it/if it’s possible with the older SDK that you’re working with.
