IE hangs with empty blank screen when opening second window

IE hangs with empty blank screen when opening second window. This happens when the users preferences are set to have Document Viewing “In multiple fullscreen browser windows, one window for each document”. If this is set, when a new IE window is opened when attempting to modify a Webi doc, or view a report from Infoview, the browser window opens, but remains blank and the cursor turns to hour glass and it just hangs there indefinitely. We’ve noticed the same thing happens when trying to use Meeting Place from within Outlook, so it appears to be maybe an IE setting? If the option is set to “In the InfoView portal” so that you view or modify from within the same initial browser window, things work fine. So it doesn’t appear to be a Java thing then, because wouldn’t it not work at all if it was a Java problem? The version of Java being used is what comes from BO.

This is a BO XI 3.0, all on Win2003 SP2 servers, Tomcat Java BO, with IIS servers in front using Jakarta redirectors, Trusted Auth as well as AD/Kerberos to map in user groups from AD.

We don’t have this problem.

We’re on BO XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.1 (we have never been on XI 3.0).

This must’ve been fixed in XI 3. We are still on XI R2 SP4.

Actually, our production server runs on BO XI R2.0 SP4 FP4.3 and again, no problems (we are upgrading to BO XI 3.1).
