I have recently installed bo 4.1 on my system. After installation of the client tools ,the following client applications are not seen(seems not installed):
IDT
UDT
Do I need to install it seperate.??? Plz help.
Were you able to install 4.1 Client tool specifically IDT ?
We are currently on BO 4.1 SP2 and seeing a small issue in IDT. In the BLX, when you click on an object, there is a “SQL Assistant…” button. We have seen that in BO 4.0, clicking on this button will open a new window where one could create or modify object definition.
After we upgraded to 4.1 SP2, clicking on “SQL Assistant…” button, nothing happens. Everything else is working fine. Has anyone else come across this issue ? We tried un-installing and re-installing but did not help. Also, our installtion was using the base BO 4.0 and 4.1 installed on top it.
We recently upgraded to BO4.1 SP2 as well and after noticed the same problem with our universe.
On a side note: the problem is not just in the BLX when you try to open SQL Assistant for an object, but even in the DFX when you edit a join and click on the “SQL” button. Nothing happens here as well.
It seems that a certain amount of tables/views and complexity in the universe can cause this problem to occur. In the SAP Note it says 1000+ tables/views, but our universe only has about 220 tables/views and 150 joins.
When I experimented some more with this (by adding/removing tables). I found that after adding more tables, suddenly the SQL editors started working again . So it seems that it’s not just a minimum of tables which causes this problem, but something more specific. It doesn’t even seem related to the specific number of tables/views, but also WHICH tables. When I add some table, the SQL assistant could stop working but then when I add a different table, the SQL assistant might still continue to work. Maybe it could be the number of columns in the Data Foundation.
It doesn’t look like there is a simple solution out there yet, but they have mentioned in the SAP note that it will be addressed in a future Fix Pack or Service Pack.
By the way, we are also on BO4.1 SP2 Patch 2. But our universe has also been tested on BO4.1 SP3 with the same result. So the current SP3 update will not solve this problem.
