IDT - No option for SQL Server in Middleware Driver

A third party has installed our Information Design Tool, but when we try to set up a new relational connection, the only options in the Middleware Driver Selection are SAP and SAS.

They are insisting they have installed the tool correctly which I dispute, so I wondered if anyone else has had this issue and how it was resolved.

I think you should get your money back!

During installation, you are given the option to select the database types to install. Apparently your third-party only selected those two.

Run Add/Remove Programs, find SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Client Tools, and hit Uninstall/Change. Wait a long time for the dialog to come up. Select Modify. Then select the missing datatype types.

Sounds like they haven’t installed the relevant Data Access component(s)

Search for “Data Access” in the document.
