IDoC for data integration

Hi All,

I have a requirement to integrate non-SAP system (SQL server) with SAP ECC system.

Planning to use idoc for integration using DS batch job. This job will run daily and post the idocs in ECC system.

Is it a good design approach?. Anyone has implemented this approach?.
our DS version : 4.2 SP07.
