Identifying all reports that use a particular table/objects

Hello,

I am trying to find a way to identify all webi reports that use a particular table / set of objects in a universe.

I have been scouring the forum for the last few hours and have drawn a blank.

I have tried using Query Builder, querying the CMS database directly and looking at the stuff available on BOB downloads.

I am using BO 4.1.

Any ideas will be gratefully received!

thanks

Wouldnt this help you?

Thanks Mak, yes I did try this but it requires you to have Deski which unfortunately I don’t.

Looking around the forum it looks like this is an often asked question and there are plenty of solutions for XI 3.1 and before but nothing for 4.1.

Frustrating as I’ve got over 1000 reports that potentially use these objects but such is life!

Looks like a problem if you don’t have Deski?
I didn’t realise, sorry.

Has anyone in your company got it, can you convert the report to Webi and use it there?

No Deski licences within the company unfortunately.

I tried converting the .rep to a .wid using the Report Conversion Tool and get the following error message:

Not Converted : WIDScanner_1_2.rep - Web Intelligence only supports reports that contain at least one data provider.

Is there any additional budget for any commercially available tools?

I guess this is an avenue I might need to explore.

Do you have any recommendations?

thanks for help with this issue.

Well, theres the Business Objects Information Steward for one.

A couple of ideas here:-

Does this one help you:-

Thanks for the additional info Mak.

Having played around with the bottom link you provided it looks like this code only works for XI 3.1.

It looks like the only option (if you don’t want to buy Information Steward), is to use Webi REST web services SDK.

I believe to do it properly you would need more than just the Webi Restful SDK.

Having said that the SDK is unfortunately not really my area.
My colleague has partially built one, in 4.1, so, doable, although as the SDKs get developed there is always a better way of doing things.

The one thing I will say, is wherever you go with this you will never regret having access to such functionality.
