I need to write VBA code to read the query results on report, and based on results send an e-mail to the users.

You want to read from the DP or from the report. These are two different things and the latter is not that flexible. But this has been discussed lot of times on this board. A quick search for Data providers on SDK Forum will yield some good results. Here is one such which will give you a preview of how it is done.
