How to read (DS 4.2) Essbase data and load them to SAP HANA

In our project we like to load the cube data from Essbase to SAP Hana.
Obviously there does not seem to exist a generic datastore-type for Essabse?

I believe the way to do this would be via ODBC? Pretty sure there is a 64 bit ODBC driver available.

Essbase (Hyperion) is a multidimensional database (think SAP BW cubes or SSAS or TM1) and I do not believe that this is source that SAP Data Services may be able to query directly. Instead, you will need to configure Essbase to export the data into a relational database and have SAP DS pick it up from there.

Edit: Having said that, there are ODBC drivers that appear to enable direct SQL querying against Essbase. However I have not seen any evidence that this actually works (it certainly hasn’t for me).

Have you managed to actually read complex Hyperion cubes that way? It hasn’t been very successful for me - instead, having Essbase export the data into Oracle worked quite well.

I have not… but you said it was not possible, which is quite different from not working well for you.
