How to populate an Excel spreadsheet with data from BO ?

Hi all,
Here is my problem. I have to generate an Excel file with data that which are taken from our datamart trough BO. Here is the procedure.

The problem
Our client sent us an Excel file that cannot be by no way changed. So I just can’t simply recreate the report on BO and export it as Excel as the Excel file generated by BO will not have exactly the same format needed by our client (graphics, cells merging concerns).

Solutions ?
Either I manually enter the datas into the Excel files (which I want to avoid) or I find a way to fill all the data from BO to this file.
does it exist a way to tell BO that, for exemple will be in cell B2:C3 of a specified Excel file ?

Which Bo release are you using ? Have you access to BusinessQuery product (Bo add in in Excel)

Hi Bernard, I’m currently working on BusinessObjects 6.5 SP2 and unfortunaly I don’t have the BusinessQuery Addon.

it’s a pity because in you case, it would have been the right way…

Instead of using Bo, you could fill some cell making a database query through Excel (external data)
