How to display Arabic characterset

hi,
I have oracle 10g database tables.
I need to display arabic characters from the table in the report.
Help me please

I do not believe this is possible in Classic BO. BO was not fully unicode until XI.

First check in SQL plus if arabic is displaying correctly for that column.
If its ok then BO also should show it in proper arabic.
Though it was unsupported till 6.x (as Steve said it wasn’t unicode) but still the data shows correctly in most cases.

We are just trying to help each other, please have courtesy to first acknowledge what is suggested rather than saying “It is not at all helpful” as in your other post for “No Data to Fetch”.

Cheers

I’m also facing some troubles in displaying the Arabic character-set in BO Full Client but I’m using 5.1.6.
So it’s not possible???

We managed to display arabic in full client 5.x for DB2.
But for this a third party tool was installed which use to render arabic characters in BO.
Dont know what database you are using and if there is any tool for it.
Nevertheless to say that XIr2 is having unicode support

we are on a MS SQL server 2000 database.
When I look in databse (enterprise manager) I can see the right Arabic characters but when I look at the same data when queried in BusObjs the specific Arabic Characters are “lost”.
ps
We are using ODBC to connect to this database and I allready confirmed that ODBC is not causing the trouble, cause a plain query using the ODBC in MS Excel returns the Arabic characters…

BusinessObjects Technical Support advised me to “play” with soem language settings in the Regional Settings from the OS. But after trying different options (mostly in the advanced tab of the Regional Settings on WIN XP) this didn’t work for me (5.1.6.)
So I’m still stuck :?
