How to differentiate Crystal Reports Server XI R1 from R2

I have just walked into a new job where they have CRS XI installed from an online downloaded installer. It seems that they have applied some patches but the former encumbent is no longer available and there is precious little documentation on the implementation. From my investigations I am still not sure how to tell definitively whether the Server is XI R1 or XI R2. Can anyone point me at the correct information?

In XI r2 there is a folder under the install directory that keeps track of patches etc - I don’t have server access at the moment, but root around thereor look at the registry - or even the standard documents in the installation download - they should have the version number.

For release 1, the path contains “enterprise11”. For release 2, it changes to “enterprise115”. That should tip you off right away.

By the way, the easiest way is to ask the people there. Someone should know whether it is r1 or r2. Very often, the old fashioned way is still the best way.

If you login to the CMC and look at Settings you will see the Product Version. Anything that begins with 11.0.x.x is R1 and 11.5.x.x is R2

Thanks guys. Unfortunately there’s nobody here who really has much clue as a former employee implemented it just before leaving and nobody is really using it yet. I strongly suspected that I was looking at R2 but I just wanted some certainty before I started playing around with it. The main reason I suspected R2 was the version number being 11.5.x.x which happened to coincide with info I found on the BO support site. As it happens the URL also contains enterprise115 so now it’s confirmed and I can make plans according to R2 documentation without worrying about having to upgrade.
Cheers,

Phil
