How to delete instances of a Report in CMC

There is a report in CMC (3.1) which is having more than 90,000 instances and which is not allowing me open.

Client wants to delete 2013 instances from History but im unable to get into History tab means its not showing any options after clicking the report.

I have tried to delete the instances from instance manager but its taking more time.

Can any one suggest me is there any other way to delete the instances of any report having more instances.

Thanks in advance.

It always used to start automatically deleting them if you put an instance limit on a folder.

We have not set any limit to the instances so the history was pilled up.

Ok, well if you set it now, it will start deleting them over time.

Thanks for the information.

There are so many other reports exists in that folder if I place limit it will be effect other reports too right. As we are not applying that limit on report level.

so is there any other way to delete.

Yes the limit only applies to a whole folder.

You could possibly delete them via the SDK.

Hi Mak
When you say it will start deleting them over time, what sort of time would that be? A couple of hours, days, longer?
I am working in an environment where they have thousands of report instances and they are running out of space on the Output Filestore. The Outfput Filestore folder has over 107Gb of data; growing daily.
I have implemented a limit on the report instances but I am not seeing the actual files being deleted from the physical space. Do I need to restart the server or is it just a waiting game?
Thanks

IMO, the limit on report instances applies with next scheduled run of report. For e.g. if you’ve scheduled a monthly (1st of every month) report then wait till 1st March to see any change.

P.S. It may also help checking next scheduled report run time under instance manager.

Sarah,

It used to start purging them when the system is quiet?
Unsure if it may be worth re-starting your services, also?

Cheers,

Mark.
