Hi,
open Your Universe and first select “Region” double click on Region it displays object properties window in that window---->properties----->select edit it shows query panel for “region” object in that query panel write a prompt prompt for “Country”, same process for “country” within the “country” write a “state” prompt
for “state” write a prompt city and save it
in report level select required objects and select a Prompt for Region.
:lol:

kumareshgopal,

The final query will be executed with only the condition on ‘City’.
What if a city is known in more then 1 State/Country/Region ?

I think you should add at every level the previous choice:
Region -> Region
Country -> Region+Country
State -> Region+Country+State
City -> Region+Country+State+City

Or create unique cities like:
City (State)
Zevenhuizen (Zuid-Holland)
Zevenhuizen (Friesland)
Zevenhuizen (Overijssel)

Hope this helps,
Johan

Hi ,
We can Create cascading prompt as i had created one in version 5.1.2
here i wil take an example as like if there is a state and when we select a state then it should give me the District in that state.like if i click on CA then I should get the places in CA in the other Prompt.

1)Open the UNV
2)Select the Object go to the properties.For Eg :“STATE”
3)Click the Edit button you will get a query panal.
4)In the condition drag the District.
5)Run
6)Check automatic refresh when used.
7)Save

You can get the casading prompt as you had told.

Hi,

This feature is called Cascading Prompt…

In XI R2 we have a predefined Menu by which you can generate this…

However for 6.5 , please visit for a pictorial illustration of Cascading Prompts
