We have a xcelsius dashbaord that is built on dummy data. Now the requirement is to
-> build a webi report
-> the data form webi report is the source for xcelsius dashboard.
I know we can achieve this, but how that’s the questions. I have already created a webi report, but i am not able to view the webi report from xcelsius.
Do a search here on B:mrgreen:B or have a look at the documentation of the SAP site. I don’t think there’s much difference when it comes to performance. With Live Office you can simply add (parts of) a Webi report and incorporate the data, i.e. you first build a report with the data that you want and then you build on top of that data. QaaWS’s interface is (obviously) more clunky and less versatile.
You might also check this webinar from 5/20 that compares QaaWS and Live Office. In it they recommend Office 2007. I know we had issues with Live Office and Outlook XP. We also use SAP BEx which also uses an Excel Add-on which conflicts with the Live Office Add-on - developer has to toggle off/on which ever add-on they need.
One nice thing about using Live Office is that you can make a WebI or Crystal Report teh data source for you Xcelsius, which means you can schedule those reports to run and cache the results so the dashboard end user never really has to hit the DB.
You might also look at the beta from Centigon Solutions which allows you to connect Xcelsius to a csv file.
We’re doing a trial of xwis antivia tool and is very good to bring data from Webi to Xcelsius, a great feature is that you can drill down on the data, like if you are in Webi… so far we are liking it and we think it will work for the type of dashboards that we have on mind… thanks
