Seems bit silly question but can’t solve it, so;
I have a crosstable with left (the rows), Cities and then as column header say, 3 different categories.
I then want to count the sum of these 3 categories per city, so basically, i want a sum of the rows.
Seems simple emough, but still…
Anyone?

You can do it via the sum icon or via the cross table properties. Have a look at the webi user guide, it’s all in there.

it should me, but when i drag the vraiables in the crosstable and click on the “value” field i can then only select per column where normally if you click on the value field you select the whole field.
Ergo, the sum only works per columns and thus only a sum on the bottom of the column.
Counting in the “row” direction is not possible (for me that is:))

You’ve not hidden the total row/column by mistake have you?

i dont think so.
I made a screen, maybe this clarifies it
You can see here how i selected the “KM” category.
The other columns are not selected.

If you right click and choose sum, what options does it give you?

it does give me all options, so, row, column or both directions.
But the result is only the sum of the selected column

Ah, you’ve got three different measure variables, haven’t you?
Rather than one measure split by three different dimension values.

yes, i have multiple measures, thats the problem.
Any workaround things like this as far as you know?

You could either unpivot the data with extra variables or create a variable that is the sum of the three measures that you have.

unpivot?

if you mean do it with a straight, non crosstable table,
triefd that already but that reacts the same with each variable

No, keep the cross table.
Are your three measures variables in the report or universe measures?

They are Universe variables.
If i had a variable that would consist of a list of variables then i could drag it on top of the crosstable which would then form the columnheaders.
Then i could count.
So the real problem is how to make such a variable and can this be done in the report or query or should this be done in the universe?
