Hi all,
I have a need to change the hostname of a machine that has a full installation of server components and content for BOXI R3.1 SP3 Fixpack 3.3.
I wish to update the current installation to reflect a change in server hostname for all services whilst still retaining the content underneath.
I want to keep the same default ports etc, just reflect a hostname change.
Im using Kerberos and understand that Ill need to update webapp configs, keytab and SPNs but to change the hostname I would like advice on the SAP steps below please.
I found them as part of the R3.1 admin guide. I cant say Ive ever needed to tweak an installation in this way, does anyone else have experience of this?
To recreate a Server Intelligence Agent on a local machine
This procedure is used to add a node and Server Intelligence Agent to a
local machine when the SIA already exists in the CMS system database.
You may want to use this procedure if you are replacing a machine with
BusinessObjects Enterprise servers.
Note:
Although BusinessObjects Enterprise allows you to have nodes on different
operating systems, recreating nodes is supported only for servers that are
using the same operating system. For example, BusinessObjects Enterprise
does not support recreating a Server Intelligence Agent on a Solaris machine
when the original SIA that exists in the CMS system database was on a
Windows machine.
- In the CCM, click Add Server Intelligence Agent.
Note:
The same procedure is used for creating a node and for creating a new
Server Intelligence Agent. You cannot have one without the other. - In the “Server Intelligence Agent Wizard”, provide a name and port number
for the new Server Intelligence Agent (SIA). - Select the Create default servers on the new node check box, then
click Next .
I’d appreciate any feedback available please.
Thank you.
