History Preservation (SCD Type 2) - EFFECTIVE_FROM date

Hi All

Need some help here. I have written a simple job for history preservation using the following data flow:

Employee->Query->Table Comparison->History Preservation->Key Generation->Employee_History

The history preservation works well, but I am observing a strange issue:

The EFFECTIVE_FROM field in my Employee_History table was mapped at the Query transform itself against CREATED_DATE in the Employee table however this is not working.

As a result, the EFFECTIVE_FROM date is just NULL. I have tried everything but this field is not getting populated. Everything else works fine.

What could be the problem?
