Highest versions of SQL*Net with BO 4.1.x?

Hello there–

Does anyone (Oracle folks) know what the latest version of SQLNet
compatible with BusObj 4.1.x is? We have a user trying to run Oracle
Developer 2000 v. 2.1 Runtime along with BO, with little success.
Developer installs SQLNet 2.3.4.0.0, and SQLPlus 3.3.4.0.0, which are
later than the SQLNet 2.3.2.1.4, and SQL*Plus 3.3.2.0.2 installed with BO
4.1.

I wouldn’t have thought that the SQLPlus version would make a difference,
but SQLNet certainly might. Anybody have any experiences with using later
SQL*Net versions, or having Oracle Dev 2000 2.1 coexist with Business Objects?

Neither should be a problem. I have worked with several customers that have
SQLNet 2.3.4. Designer 2000 is also not a problem. BO doesn’t install any
of these. It simply uses the SQLNet that is referenced by the ORACLE_HOME
variable. Be careful that your universes are defined with SQL*Net 2.3
connections. You may run into problems if they are defined as 2.2
connections
