In a message dated 99-01-22 12:39:54 EST, you write:

<< I’m new in Business Objects. Can anyone suggest some books on
BUSOB? >>

I find the class workbooks for the version 4 Reporter, Explorer, Designer, &
Supervisor classes very helpful as procedural guides. If you haven’t been to
these classes, you can call B.O. @ 1-888-800-7861 to register. You might also
fire up the module you are interested in and review the Help, it seems more
thorough (to me) than the User Manuals.

Aris,

We received a similar Informix message (-239) on some universes after upgrading the security domain to 5.0.2. Does it kick this error out when the universe gets to the list of values? I had to delete the LOVs from the repository for that universe from Supervisor to get the universe to export successfully.

Of course the one week I take off for vacation all hell break loose. Over = the weekend our CEO reported errors while trying to run reports over Webi = 2.5.2 (nt sp5) All I was told was that they were BOMANAGER and BODISPATCHER=
errors and they don’t know the codes that were associated with them or = the text. I’m looking for a log or some kind that would tell me if a = service died, or the problems that the server was experiencing between the = services etc etc. They rebooted the server and the problems still = existed. However, when I came in this morning everything was fine…the = only thing that changed was that the machine had a scheduled reboot early = this morning. I’m guessing that I’m going to have to attribute it to = Business Objects just being flakey which is never good when reporting to = your CEO :(…THANKS!

Ian

try to have a look in the event log of your NT server in the system and application parts via the event log viewer of your NT administration tools ( if you have no access, ask your LSA ). I have already experienced some service breaks in them that you can then analyse …

Just few help but we never know …

My BCA, when ever I send a documents is not running, we’ve been doing every suggestion from BUSO-L, but no good news. could someone help me??

Listserv Archives (BOB member since 2002-06-25)

do you get errors, eg, when you look at the bca console on your server, are there any messages like ‘unknown job killed’, etc?

more info, see if we can help

Yes, it said “(0) can not get script from the documents or cannot create BCA macro in document”. We changed all user script to enable, it is a simple list

have you tried the servconf utility to set up heap size, verify that you have an account specified with the correct rights to run your scripts?

can you run BO on that box and run the script manually? and what versions of BO are you talking about here - that might help, too.

thanks!
