help needed for making xcelsius reports

hi all,
i m new to this forum.
and also new to xcelsius tool. i m working on BO XI R2 Desktop Intellegence. now in our project we require to develope some xcelsius reports, for tht we hav KPI’s.
can anybody guide me how to get started. wht are the needs.
how to get data from univesre to excel sheet?
how to implement the excel sheet and how to export is back to repository so i can view it into infoview.

Hi Khandelwal,

you can always access getting started guides from Business objects site, anyways just to give u a high level view of how to build dashboards using universe as ur data provided , first of all u need to have xcelsis 4.5 workgroup installed which has the web connectivity component, u also need to have installed Query as Web Services (QaAWS) which is part of the XIR2 SP2 and Productivity Pack, now you have to develop your query using QaAWS publish it to BO and in excelsius define a dummy excel spreadsheet import it and use web services component to consue the QaAWS query and build your dashboard and export it back to BO as a flash file.

Download source files from http://www.xcelsius.com/Examples/Overview.html for whatever dashboards possible and see how mapping is done in Xcelsius to excel sheet.

Do you own the Enterprise version of Xcelsius. If you don’t, then Web Services is not going to be possible.

Web Services “componenents” are part of the standard BO XI installation kit and can be found on the Productivity Pack CD.

yes we have our own Enterprise version of Xcelsius. but facing the prob. now we installed the below patch its waorking fine.

I have data for 2 years. now in the report my requirement is to show a radio button where frm i can select one Account Type from AC00, AC10, AC20 and according to the selection i want a combo box wch displays Names of customers of that particular Account type. and i want to inlcude one chart that shows the values of Amount1 and Amount2.
