From what context are you seeing this? What’s your root concern/question/scenario from where this question is raised?

This question has been asked to one of my friend in an interview.
So I have only this much information and not getting anything on the net also.
So, thats it…

It doesn’t sound like a useful question, really. A HashMap or hashtable is a data structure used across several programming paradigms but does not hold any special value in terms of SAP Business Objects.
Perhaps this was mentioned in the context of business objects as it related to a nomenclature used for distributed programming concepts, ex:

If your friend can supply some more context it would help - otherwise I don’t think there’s much to this. Someone else may have a better idea though.
Hope this helps

It almost sounds like a question to see if you try to make something up or if you honestly say that you aren’t familiar with the term with regards to BO. I’ve asked similar questions in PowerBuilder (yeah, old school) to see if people were just trying to port other language experience over without any real experience in the tool. You would get some interesting answers to say the least and they would tell you a lot about how a candidate thinks.
It goes back to the old adage, NEVER lie in an interview. Just say what you know and what you don’t and what you want to learn about.
